Community Engagement Committee for Voices in Jackson County

Our Listening Sessions

Our previous listening sessions have been of two types: a focus group style with 3-5 people in a zoom room reflecting on prepared prompts that we have planned. And a one-on-one interview with the same prompts conducted over zoom, phone, or in person.

You can view reports on our previous listening sessions here: Reports

We have a group of trained volunteers to conduct the focus groups/interviews as well as notetakers. When okayed by the participants, we also like to record the sessions to make sure we have a total record of the input.

We provide confidential conversations, keeping no record of the name or descriptions or other identifications of people we listen to. We also provide each participant with a $25 gift card for taking the time to speak with us.

After the listening sessions or interviews, we create a record of the input as notes, recordings, and transcripts. That material is then analyzed and categorized for themes, descriptions of personal experiences of the system–both positive and negative–to identity areas where improvements might be made in services.

Our purpose is to help the system achieve equity, fill gaps in services, and achieve outcomes that help people and their families progress toward recovery from behavioral health needs.

We are willing to adjust our process in order to meet the needs of your organization when you are helping us connect with people who are willing to provide input.

Please let us know if we can answer any further questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
